Melissa loves all things Philadelphia, having grown up in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood of West Philly and now living with her family in the Cedar Park neighborhood of West Philly! Melissa loves exploring the city and being outdoors with her two young sons, James and Samuel, and her husband, Kenny. Their favorite things to do in the city is riding bikes by the Art Museum, swimming in the amazing public pools, and hiking along the trails in the Wissahickon. Melissa also enjoys running by the Schuylkill and cooking, everything from the comfort Korean food she grew up eating to insanely fast and delicious Instant Pot recipes, for her friends and loved ones. Melissa has a huge heart for teaching mindfulness and social justice to children.

Despite the academic nature of her introduction to the city, Charlene’s biggest priority and number one goal once becoming a Philly resident was fulfilled in 2007 when she met Boyz II Men. Aside from baking and stellar music, Charlene also loves football, college basketball, the arts, and Philly’s food scene.
